Tauro Closer, Juan Ramirez, wanted to use his 2 Minutes to discuss a Ted Talk he listened to presented by a Mr. Jones on how comfort is overrated. A line that stood out to him was “The world promises you comfort. You were not built for comfort. You were built for greatness.” Juan thinks there is something to be learned behind that phrase. Society around us is both simultaneously promoting and hindering growth. That is why we need to be cognizant of our environment. To better explain this, Juan utilizes a fishbowl analogy. In the end, we need to learn to experience discomfort because that is when we are going to grow the most. Comfort maintains the status quo. Be a disruptor.
