Karen Stager joined Tauro Capital Advisors in 2021 to lead the effort to bring Capital Advisory Fee business to the firm. Her initial target is to assist lenders and developers with loan originations, underwriting and due diligence expertise, while offering a rigorous risk management philosophy and approach across all CRE asset classes.

Ms. Stager is a 34-year commercial real estate and financial investment professional with extensive valuation, asset management and workout experience. She is highly skilled at business development, managing partnerships, managing customer relationships, as well as leading teams.

Karen began her commercial real estate career in 1987 as a real estate investment analyst at Aetna Realty Investors in the life company and pension fund divisions. She joined GE Capital in 1992 where she spent the next 17 years building a well-rounded skillset in both debt and equity product lines. She later joined Hudson Advisors, the asset management and due diligence company within Lone Star Funds, where she participated in an elite, ten-member North and Central America underwriting team, created to underwrite distressed commercial loan portfolios and core portfolios within the various Lone Star Funds. Ms. Stager personally underwrote more than $2.5 Billion of debt and equity transactions in her career.

Most recently, Ms. Stager had been providing senior outside consulting support for banks and private lenders, developers, absentee owners, court appointed receivers and loan servicers. Her lending risk management focus was instrumental in building one of the largest A note businesses within the US with Axos Bank.

Ms. Stager attended the College of Liberal Arts at the University of New Hampshire. She has been a guest lecturer at Pepperdine University for the real estate investment program. Ms. Stager was actively involved in the Silicon Valley Children’s Fund created to raise money and awareness to assist foster youth through collegiate degree programs. She was also a Youth Softball Coach for the Junior Olympic Girls Fast Pitch National Program from 2000-2011. Karen is Six-Sigma- Green Belt Certified.
