Jan Hood

Jan Hood joined Tauro Capital Advisors in 2022.  She is a seasoned professional with years of experience; originating often complex commercial real estate financings on a wide range of product through a range of market cycles within Alaska, California, and other national markets.

At Tauro, Jan provides capital advisory expertise with a focus on financing investment-grade Alaskan commercial real estate (all product types), as well as (multifamily/ retail) financing in the rapidly growing Inland Empire, CA markets.  Her expertise includes equity, bridge and permanent debt.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hood was involved in the origination of  hundreds of millions in loans during her extensive career.   She has worked as a direct lender with Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Clearinghouse CDFI and others, as well as in an advisory capacity at George Smith Partners, Inc., etal. and independently.  She was the first female broker at George Smith Partners, Inc. and among the first to effectively sell Alaska to Wall Street (CMBS) lenders. Jan has served for over 25 years on boards overseeing management of homeless programs and 811 / LIHTC projects.

Ms. Hood received her MBA, Finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and her BA w/ a double major in Finance & Marketing from the University of Oregon in  Eugene, OR.  Jan has completed post graduate level coursework in the areas of real estate, appraisal, tax credits, project management, and banking.
